I have been a professional photographer in the Sydney graphic arts scene since 1979. After my education in Germany 40 years ago, I spent two years in Amsterdam, Holland, and much of that time in the Rijksmuseum, studying the paintings of Dutch and Flemish masters. It is there I got the inspiration for my style of photography - light is used to maximum effect, composition is all-important and attention to detail reigns. With the arrival of digital photography and Photoshop, I was given the tools to finish my pictures to my liking and thus fulfil my vision of evocative PHOTOART.

While there is a tradition with Australian photographers to 'go outback' and shoot panoramic landscapes, I consider myself an urban photographer - currently most pictures in PHOTOART are from Sydney. I just roam the city, incessantly shooting with my 11 mp Canon camera. Then I manipulate the pictures on my Apple Mac with Adobe PhotoShop. I have abandoned film in early 1998 and been solely a digital photographer ever since, both for my personal PHOTOART work and professionally. Numbered Edition Prints

PHOTOART Numbered Editions are signed, numbered and certified, but the editions are not limited in numbers (a message to my Ltd Ed Prints customers). My pictures are printed on an Epson Pro 4800 using Epson UltraChrome K3 inks on Archival Matte or Enhanced Matte paper. PHOTOART standard paper ink jet prints are A3 (23cm x 35cm - 9" x 13") or A2 (42cm x 58cm - 16" x 23") in size; larger paper prints on request. Other products are available, such as A4 Gift Cards and A2 hand finished, lacquered, custom framed pictures, poster prints 17" x 22" / 43cm x 56cm (these prints are not part of the Numbered Edition Print range, they are not signed or certified), as well as A1 and A0 canvas prints - for details go to products. Many of my pictures can be ordered either in colour, black and white or sepia - please contact me, so we can discuss your requirements (in my Online Shop/Gallery I often show pictures in both colour and black & white).

PHOTOART Lacquered Custom Framed Limited Edition A2 Pictures are signed, numbered and certified and the editions are limited to 25 pictures per image.

Replacement Prints

Replacement prints are available should your registered and certified print get damaged (please return the part of the print that shows my signature and the image code, and state your certificate number). You may also upgrade to a larger print. So you may start with purchasing a standard A3 print, and if at a later stage you upgrade to a more expensive picture, your original purchase price will be refunded (but the replacement print charge applies.)

Stock Photography Usage Rights

The charges for my Edition Prints and Gift Cards apply to the prints only and do not include usage rights, i.e. the right to use the images in any way other than displaying the print. Neither may you scan, reproduce and electronically store my images. Usage Rights for most PHOTOART pictures are available and will be negotiated separately - please contact me for details.
